Product description

A delightfully cheerful Shasta Daisy, 'Banana Cream' produces an abundance of large, daisy-like blooms that open a bright lemon-yellow before slowly maturing to a creamy, buttery white. Its compact, heavily branching habit ensures a profusion of flowers over a long period, set against robust, dark green foliage.

For the best floral display, plant this perennial in a spot that receives full sun and ensure the soil is reasonably fertile and well-drained. Regular deadheading is essential to prevent the plant from putting energy into seed production, thereby encouraging it to continuously produce new buds.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

For the Leucanthemum Banana Cream, snip off the dead flower heads down to the next lateral bud throughout the summer; this stops the plant from wasting energy on making seeds and forces it to push out another flush of blooms.

How to Water

Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisies) prefer consistently moist, well-drained soil. Water deeply when the top inch of soil feels dry. Target the base to avoid leaf spot; once established, they are drought-tolerant but bloom best with regular hydration.

How to Plant

Select a spot with rich, well-draining loam and dig a hole just deep enough to keep the crown of the daisy flush with the soil line. As Leucanthemum are fast-growing clumpers, give them at least 18 inches of breathing room from their neighbors so they have space to bush out.
