Leca Horticultural Grit is the ideal product for use all around the garden and inside the home. Made from lightweight material, it has a multitude of handy purposes, from improving aeration and drainage, to suppressing weeds, protecting against harsh temperatures, and creating an attractive top dressing. It also promotes healthy root development, ensuring plants grow to be healthy and happy in their environment.

Mix at a ratio of 1:3 with potting mix or garden soil to help meet the air and water requirements of your plants. This is particularly useful for clay soils, which often compact easily, retaining too much water and not letting in enough oxygen for the roots to thrive. Alternatively, apply as a top layer to keep soil moist and offer winter protection to pot grown plants, or to help suppress weeds in beds and borders, allowing your plants and flowers to thrive without competing for nutrients. This lightweight formula is ideal for containers, providing effective soil improvement without making pots too heavy to move around. It can also be used for succulents and cacti, offering a free-draining soil substitute for these plants to thrive.
