Product description

Hydrangea FlowerWOW certainly lives up to its name, producing masses of large, rounded flowerheads that make a striking feature against its lush green foliage. The flowers emerge with a fresh green tint before opening to white, then gradually develop softer green tones as they mature, creating an ever-changing display that lasts from summer into early autumn. The sturdy, upright stems hold the sizeable blooms well, helping the plant maintain its shape even as the flowerheads become more substantial.

Easy to grow and reliably hardy, FlowerWOW is a versatile choice for borders, mixed planting schemes, or larger containers. It will grow happily in full sun or partial shade, provided the soil is fertile, moist, and well drained, with regular watering particularly important during dry periods. Prune in late winter or early spring, removing the old flowerheads and cutting back the stems to encourage vigorous new growth and another generous display the following summer.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Too much nitrogen can encourage plenty of leafy growth at the expense of flowers, so avoid heavy feeding Hydrangea with high-nitrogen fertilisers. A balanced slow-release fertiliser applied in spring is generally all that is needed.

How to Water

Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly during the growing season, as Hydrangeas can struggle in dry conditions. Water thoroughly during prolonged dry spells, paying particular attention to newly planted specimens and plants growing in containers, which can dry out more quickly.

How to Plant

Plant Hydrangea in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade, enriching the planting hole with plenty of well-rotted organic matter. Dig a hole slightly wider and deeper than the root ball, place the plant at the same depth as it was growing in its pot, then backfill with the excavated soil, firming gently around the roots.
