Product description
'The Original Blue' is a revolutionary mophead hydrangea famed for its ability to flower on both the current season's growth and previous years' branches. It forms a bushy, deciduous shrub topped with large, striking clusters of vivid blue flowers that create a bold, traditional look in mixed borders or large patio containers.
This variety relies on acidic soil to maintain its intense blue colour; if the soil is too alkaline, the flowers will naturally fade to pink. Keep the plant well-watered, particularly during dry spells, and feed it with a specialist hydrangea or ericaceous fertilizer to support its vigorous, repeat-blooming habit.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
To ensure Hydrangea Endless Summer The Original Blue produces those coveted, vivid blue flowers, you must keep your soil strictly acidic! Apply a soil acidifier like aluminum sulfate around the base as neutral or alkaline dirt will quickly turn its spectacular blooms a murky pink.
How to Water
To keep hydrangeas thriving, maintain consistently moist but well-drained soil. Water deeply at the base of the plant 2–3 times a week to reach the roots while keeping foliage dry to prevent disease. During intense summer heat, they may need daily attention to prevent wilting. Avoid overhead sprinkling and stagnant water, as "wet feet" can cause root rot. A layer of mulch helps retain necessary moisture and regulate ground temperature.
How to Plant
Dig a hole twice as wide as the pot for Hydrangea Endless Summer The Original Blue, ensuring the crown is perfectly flush with the soil line. Mix rich compost into the backfill dirt to help establish its roots, then press the earth firmly around to remove air pockets and water deeply.
