Product description
Hemerocallis Gentle Shepherd is a virtually indestructible clumping perennial that acts as a highly reliable workhorse in the mid-border. It pushes up thick, arching, strap-like green leaves before producing a relentless succession of massive, pale cream, near-white trumpet flowers featuring incredibly vibrant lime-green throats.
Bury the thick, fleshy roots in rich loam or heavy clay, ensuring the crown sits no more than an inch below the soil surface, as planting too deeply stops it from flowering. Give it plenty of sun and normal, consistent moisture, and snap off the individual faded blossoms every single day to keep the display looking pristine.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Snap off the individual faded blossoms of Hemerocallis Gentle Shepherd every single day to keep the display looking pristine and to instantly redirect energy into the unopened buds.
How to Water
Provide normal, consistent moisture to fuel the massive volume of heavy, trumpet-shaped blooms Hemerocallis Gentle Shepherd relentlessly produces. While their thick roots can survive dry spells, withholding water will drastically reduce the size and quantity of the pale cream flowers. Aim the hose directly at the base to keep the arching, strap-like leaves dry and entirely disease-free.
How to Plant
Dig a wide hole in rich loam or heavy clay, choosing a spot that receives plenty of direct sunlight for Hemerocallis Gentle Shepherd. Bury the thick, fleshy roots so the crown sits no more than an inch below the soil surface, as planting too deeply will completely stop them from flowering. Space them generously to allow the polite clumps to safely increase in girth over the years.
