Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Feed hanging basket plants weekly with a liquid fertilizer to keep blooms coming all season. Regular deadheading also encourages new flowers and keeps baskets looking fresh.
How to Water
Check daily in warm weather. Water when the top inch feels dry. Water until it drains from the bottom. In hot weather, you may need to water once or twice a day. Avoid letting baskets dry out completely, as this stresses the plants.
How to Plant
Use a well-draining, moisture-retentive compost. Fill the basket partway, add plants—thrillers in the center, fillers around, and spillers at the edge. Firm in and top up with soil. Water thoroughly and hang in a sunny or partially shaded spot, depending on the plants.
