Originating from Latvia, this is an incredibly tough, highly disease-resistant dessert grapevine. It produces sweet, yellowish-green grapes and is famously virtually immune to the powdery mildew that plagues so many other grape varieties. It is the perfect choice for an organic or low-maintenance fruit setup.
To care for 'Supaga', provide a sturdy wire and post system for its tendrils to grab onto, and ensure it gets plenty of direct sunlight. While it is tough, it still requires well-draining soil to thrive. It is less fussy than the others, but you must still prune it back in late winter to maintain a tidy shape and ensure good airflow around the developing fruit clusters during the summer.

How to Water
To water Vitis Supaga, soak deeply every ten days in year one to drive roots down. Once mature, let the soil dry out, but maintain moisture when its tough grapes swell. Always water the soil, not the leaves.
How to Plant
To plant Vitis Supaga, dig a hole twice as wide as the rootball but exactly the same depth. Incorporate plenty of horticultural grit into the excavated soil to guarantee the rapid drainage this vine demands. Position the plant so the top of the rootball is flush with the soil surface. Backfill firmly, secure the primary shoot to your sturdy trellis, and water deeply to eliminate underground air pockets.
