Product description
Grown primarily for its spectacular, highly structural foliage rather than its delicate flowers, Geranium Variegated Occold Shield is a tender evergreen sub-shrub packed with pungent essential oils. The brilliantly coloured, patterned leaves provide a constant, high-contrast visual display while their herbal scent naturally deters many common garden pests.
Functioning much like a succulent, this plant stores excess water within its thick, fleshy stems and absolutely despises having a waterlogged root system. Plant it in a gritty, free-draining sandy loam, place it in full sun to maximize the intensity of the leaf colour, and wait until the compost feels decidedly dry before offering another drink.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
To keep the structural integrity and brilliant leaf patterns of your Geranium Variegated Occold Shield looking their absolute best, immediately snap off any plain, non-variegated green shoots that appear, as these will quickly drain energy from the main plant.
How to Water
Treat Geranium Variegated Occold Shield more like a succulent when it comes to hydration, waiting until the compost feels decidedly dry to the touch before watering thoroughly, and always avoid splashing the leaves to prevent fungal issues.
How to Plant
Settle your Geranium Variegated Occold Shield into a free-draining, slightly sandy potting mix, ensuring the root ball is level with the soil surface, and place the container in an area that receives full, baking sun to maximize the foliage colour.
