Product description

Stylishly presented in hessian wrap with a festive red bow, this Christmas Cactus makes a thoughtful Christmas gift for that person in your life who already has everything and wants for nothing.

These succulent house plants boast long, flat stems acting as foliage, providing interest all year round. From November the stems are decorated with pink buds that open out into delicate red flowers that last throughout the winter months.

Also known by the botanical name Schlumbergera, Christmas Cactus plants are extremely easy to care for. They tolerate weeks of neglect, looking their best again after watering. For the best show of flowers, keep the plant in a warm room out of direct sunlight during the summer and winter months. From autumn, and again after flowering, move the plant to a cooler spot to rest and water more sparingly. Doing this helps encourage more flower buds to form.

Despite being succulents, these tropical plants are native to rainforests and so prefer a more humid environment. This quirk makes them excellent bathroom plants, but you can mimic their natural habitat by misting a few times a week or sitting the pot on top of some pebbles in water.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
