Product description
Delphinium Rainbow Sensation brings something a little different to the summer garden, with upright stems carrying ruffled, double flowers in a soft mix of pink, lilac, creamy yellow, and blue. Reaching around 1m tall, it adds useful height without becoming quite as imposing as some traditional Delphiniums, while the unusual flowers make it a real focal point in a mixed border. Also known as Larkspur, it flowers from early to mid-summer and works particularly well alongside other cottage garden favourites.
Rainbow Sensation does best where the soil stays reasonably moist without becoming waterlogged, making a fertile garden border a good home for it. A sunny or partially shaded position suits it well, and a sheltered spot can help keep its tall flowering stems looking their best. Once the first flush of flowers has faded, cutting back the spent spikes can encourage the plant to put on another display later in the season.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Once the first flush of flowers has finished, cut the spent spikes back to encourage fresh growth from the base. This can help Larkspur produce another display later in the season when growing conditions are favourable.
How to Water
Water Larkspur thoroughly after planting, then check the soil regularly and water whenever the surface starts to dry. It needs a steady supply of moisture while it is growing and flowering, particularly during warm, dry weather, but avoid leaving the roots in saturated soil.
How to Plant
Choose a sheltered spot with enough room for Delphinium Rainbow Sensation to develop without being crowded by surrounding plants. Dig a hole slightly wider than the root ball, set the plant at the same depth as it was growing in its pot, then backfill and firm the soil gently around the base.
