Product description
Coprosma Scarlet O'Hara is an evergreen shrub that can bring an abundance of colour and a glossy finish to proceedings, adding class, style and character to the area of the garden it is placed in. Colours of orange-red, alongside maroon and green at the plants' centre are the eye-catching aspects, with each leaf becoming a shade of dark maroon once Autumn hits. This goes to show the plants year-round interest, with colour on show at all times. Moist, well-drained soil and full sunlight is how this shrub should be planted and placed. This goes nicely with its low maintenance care level once it is once established, when it will tolerate periods of drought. Regular watering can still be done if you wish to ensure the glossy look of its leaves are maintained.

Garden Plant Size Guide
Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Growing coprosma in pots or containers makes it easy to move indoors to shelter from harsh winter temperatures.
How to Water
Water regularly during the first growing season. After this, coprosma is relatively drought tolerant and only needs to be watered during particularly dry spells.
How to Plant
Choose a sheltered spot in full sun or partial shade where the plant won’t be subjected to strong winds and chilly frosts. Plant coprosma in the ground or in pots in moist but well-draining soil. Dig a hole twice the size of the nursery pot and dig in plenty of garden compost. Position the plant, ensuring the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface. Backfill with soil and compost, gently firming down as you go, and water in well.
