Product description
Carex Frosted Curls, commonly known as Sedge, is a hardy evergreen grass-like perennial with fine, arching foliage that adds movement and texture to autumn baskets and containers. Supplied as a pack of 6 plants, its flowing form works particularly well in hanging baskets, where the foliage can spill naturally over the edges. The foliage remains attractive throughout the year, making it a useful choice for adding structure and interest beyond the main flowering season.
Plant Sedge in good-quality, free-draining compost and position it in partial shade or a spot with some morning or afternoon sun. Water well after planting to help the plants establish, then avoid leaving the compost constantly wet. Remove any old or damaged foliage as needed to keep the plants looking tidy, and trim back lightly in spring if required to encourage fresh growth. Its graceful foliage and easy-going nature make Carex a great choice for adding texture and movement to seasonal baskets and containers.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
Avoid giving Carex a heavy trim before winter, as the older foliage helps protect the centre of the plant during colder weather. Leave its natural shape intact through the colder months, then in spring gently comb through the foliage with your fingers to remove any old or damaged blades. This helps fresh growth stand out while keeping the plant’s fine curls looking tidy without losing its graceful form.
How to Water
Water Carex regularly after planting to help it establish, then allow the surface of the compost to dry slightly between waterings. Although it enjoys moisture, this evergreen Sedge does not like sitting in constantly wet compost, so make sure the basket drains freely, especially during cooler months when the plant uses less water.
How to Plant
Plant Carex into a basket filled with good quality compost, spacing the individual plants evenly to create a full and balanced display as they grow. Gently remove each plant from the carry pack, place it at the same depth it was growing, firm the compost around the roots, and water well after planting to help them settle in. Position the basket in sun or partial shade where the fine bronze foliage can spill naturally over the edges.
