Product description
The Osteospermum Orange Sunrise is a brilliant, clumping sun-worshipper that opens wide, vibrant daisy-like landing pads that are excellent for visiting pollinators. It acts as a sturdy structural centrepiece, actively tracking the sun and closing its petals tightly at night or on heavily overcast days. While it thrives in the baking summer heat, it is completely frost-tender and will turn to mush if left outside during the winter months.
To accurately replicate its natural Mediterranean environment, you must strictly adhere to a 'dry' watering routine. Soak the bedding plants thoroughly until water runs out the bottom, but then walk away and allow the top two inches of the soil to dry entirely before you water it again. This cycle of heavy flooding and significant drying keeps the thick, fleshy root system incredibly healthy.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
To keep the floral show going, you have to intercept the plant's natural life cycle. Dedicate a few minutes a week to snipping off the dead and fading flower heads. This vital deadheading task stops the Osteospermum Orange Sunrise from setting seed and shutting down for the season.
How to Water
This sun-worshipper demands a very specific wet-to-dry cycle to perform at its peak. Drench the compost heavily, but then walk away and let the soil dry out significantly before the next watering session. Adhering to this strict drying period prevents the thick roots of the Osteospermum Orange Sunrise from drowning.
How to Plant
Plant the root ball directly into the dead centre of the container using a sandy, well-draining soil mix. Firm it in securely so the thick stems have the structural support needed to stand upright. A central position guarantees your Osteospermum Orange Sunrise receives the maximum baking sunlight required to open its daisy blooms.
