Product description
Nepeta Variegata is an incredibly tough, fully hardy running foliage plant that weaves beautiful textures into a basket with its green and white trailing vines. As a proud member of the mint family, its variegated leaves release a powerful, pungent herbal scent the moment you brush past them or crush them. It will happily survive a brutal UK winter outdoors, acting as a semi-evergreen that pushes out fresh, scented growth every spring.
This resilient survivor actually prefers a slightly neglected, 'dry' watering schedule to perform at its absolute best. Allow the top two inches of the compost to completely dry out before you provide it with a thorough soak, as it easily tolerates drought conditions. If you accidentally overwater it and leave it sitting in heavy, wet mud, the aggressively trailing stems will quickly rot away.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
The true appeal of this plant lies hidden within its textured, variegated leaves. Whenever you walk past the basket, simply crush a leaf between your thumb and forefinger. This releases a powerful, minty herbal fragrance that makes your Nepeta Variegata a joy to interact with.
How to Water
This trailing foliage plant thrives when you treat it with a bit of calculated neglect. Wait patiently until the top layer of dirt is entirely dry before applying any water. Replicating these drought-like conditions keeps the roots of your Nepeta Variegata incredibly healthy and strong.
How to Plant
Secure the root system near the container's edge into a free-draining, sandy compost mix. Angle the stems outward so they are primed to trail down and weave through the rest of your display. Proper edge placement gives your Nepeta Variegata the necessary room to throw out its aggressive runners.
