Product description
Nasturtium Alaska Mix is instantly recognizable by its spectacular, heavily marbled green and creamy-white foliage. Forming a neat, mounded carpet, this highly decorative variety produces a brilliant mix of single, open-faced flowers in shades of yellow, orange, salmon, and deep crimson. It serves as an exceptional double-duty container plant, providing striking architectural leaf patterns before the colourful blooms even begin to open in early summer.
Plant the Alaska Mix in a sun-drenched location using a lean, well-drained potting mix to ensure the foliage dries quickly after rain. Moisture management should be kept strictly on the dry side, as soggy roots will quickly lead to mushy stems and plant collapse. Crucially, you must avoid applying high-nitrogen general fertilizers to this variety, as an excess of nutrients will cause the new leaves to revert to solid green, erasing the beautiful white marbling.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
To keep the Nasturtium Alaska Mix looking its best, avoid high-nitrogen fertilisers. Too much food will cause the leaves to turn solid green, losing that stunning, marbled white pattern.
How to Water
The Nasturtium Alaska Mix thrives with minimal watering once it is established. Ensure the drainage is sharp so the roots never sit in cold, wet compost. A light drink once a week is usually sufficient for this hardy variety.
How to Plant
Place your Nasturtium Alaska Mix in a sunny spot to highlight its beautiful white-and-green variegated leaves. Use a lean, sandy soil to prevent the plant from becoming overly vigorous. Space them 25cm apart for a dense, mounded effect in your containers or baskets.
