Like all of its relatives, it loves the baking sun, hates the winter frost, and unfortunately does not possess the right flower anatomy to support pollinating insects.
Watering must be executed carefully to keep the extensive root system healthy, active, and free from disease. Let the top two inches of the potting mix dry out completely, ignoring any slight drooping during the hottest part of the day.
