Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Give Bidens a warm start by planting them into compost that’s been allowed to sit in the sun for an hour or so. The gentle warmth helps the roots settle in faster, encouraging quicker early growth and a stronger plant from the outset.
How to Water
Water Bidens regularly enough to keep the compost lightly moist, allowing the top layer to dry slightly between each soak. In warm or windy conditions, check baskets and containers more often, as they can dry out faster than garden beds.
How to Plant
Plant Bidens into fresh, good‑quality compost, setting each plant at the same depth it was growing in its original pot. Allow around 20-25cm of space between plants so the branching stems have room to spread and trail, creating a full, balanced shape in a basket, container, or mixed display.
