Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Rotate hanging baskets every couple of weeks to ensure all sides get the same amount of sunlight. Doing this helps plants grow evenly, keeps trailing varieties from leaning to one side, and encourages a fuller, more balanced display.
How to Water
Water thoroughly whenever the compost feels dry to the touch, making sure excess water can drain freely from the basket to prevent root rot. Reduce watering slightly in cooler weather, but don’t let the soil dry out completely.
How to Plant
Take your chosen basket and add some well-draining soil to the bottom. Carefully remove the plants from the carry pack, taking care not to disturb the roots too much, and position them in the basket, with the taller plants to the back or centre and the trailing ones around the edges. Fill the basket in with soil, firming down gently as you go, and water in well.
