Product description

Specifically bred by horticulturists to feature a compact, highly restrained dwarf habit, this plant forms a very tight, lush, low-growing mound of foliage topped with a profusion of solid, bright canary-yellow blossoms. Because it blooms slightly earlier in the season than the taller traditional varieties, it acts as an incredible early-season pollinator magnet. Its reduced, highly controlled stature makes it incredibly versatile for smaller, restricted spaces.

Due to its diminutive size and tidy habit, utilise this specific variety heavily in decorative patio containers and raised window boxes. If planting in pots, you must ensure the chosen vessel has multiple, large, unobstructed drainage holes at the bottom, as the roots will quickly rot if left to sit in stagnant water. Regularly snap off the faded yellow blooms to prolong the exceptionally bright spring display, and ensure the containers are insulated or moved to a sheltered location if a severe late freeze threatens to freeze the root ball solid.

Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. The plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.

Instructions

Top Tip

Use this solid yellow variety to instantly brighten up gloomy, shaded corners under trees. The compact growth habit makes the Aquilegia Spring Magic Yellow an excellent candidate for growing in decorative patio containers. Ensure your pots have drainage holes so the roots never sit in trapped water.

How to Water

Keep a close eye on the soil moisture, ensuring it never dries out completely. Deliver water gently to the base to support the vigorous early blooms. Maintaining a cool, damp root zone is essential for this bright Aquilegia Spring Magic Yellow.

How to Plant

Locate a spot with bright, indirect light to make the yellow flowers truly shine. Cultivate the soil deeply to remove any compacted layers that might restrict root growth. Settle the Aquilegia Spring Magic Yellow into the ground and provide an immediate, thorough soaking.
