Product description
Variegated foliage in shades of green, cream, and rich burgundy red makes Ajuga Burgundy Glow a valuable addition to baskets and containers throughout the year. This evergreen perennial is especially appreciated in autumn and winter, when its colourful leaves continue to provide interest after many summer plants have faded. During spring and early summer, small spikes of deep blue flowers appear above the foliage, adding another seasonal feature and creating an attractive contrast with the leaves.
Commonly known as Bugleweed, Ajuga Burgundy Glow is a hardy, easy-to-grow plant that needs little maintenance once established. Grow in a good quality compost in partial shade, keeping the soil moist during dry periods, particularly when planted in baskets or containers. Remove faded flowers and any tired foliage when needed to keep the plant looking tidy. With its compact growth and long-lasting foliage, this variety is a great way to add colour and texture to outdoor displays throughout the seasons.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Bugleweed does not need heavy feeding to perform well in baskets. Too much fertiliser can encourage soft, leafy growth at the expense of the attractive variegated foliage. A light feed in spring is usually all that is needed to keep plants healthy while helping them maintain their best appearance.
How to Water
When grown in baskets, Bugleweed should be watered regularly, especially during warm or windy weather when the compost can dry out more quickly. Keep the compost lightly moist and avoid letting it dry out completely between watering.
How to Plant
Plant Bugleweed into a hanging basket or container filled with a good quality multi-purpose compost, spacing the plants evenly around the basket for a fuller display. Firm the compost gently around the roots and water thoroughly after planting to help the plants settle in and establish quickly.
