Product description
Ajuga Braunherz is a compact evergreen perennial with rich bronze-purple foliage that brings colour and texture to baskets and containers throughout the year. Its foliage is particularly valuable in autumn and winter, when many flowering plants have finished and garden displays can start to lose interest. The leaves remain attractive through the colder months, creating a long-lasting backdrop for outdoor spaces. In spring and early summer, small spikes of deep blue flowers appear above the foliage, adding a seasonal splash of colour and making this variety a rewarding choice for year-round displays.
Commonly known as Bugleweed, Ajuga Braunherz is a hardy and easy-to-grow plant that needs little maintenance once established. Plant in a good quality compost in full or partial shade, keeping the plants watered during dry spells, especially when grown in baskets or containers. Remove any faded flowers or damaged leaves when needed to keep the display looking neat. Supplied as a 6 pack, these plants are established and ready to add instant interest to your outdoor planting arrangements.
Please Note: When purchasing plants, please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Avoid overfeeding Bugleweed - a light feed in spring is usually all it needs when grown in baskets. Too much fertiliser can encourage softer green growth, which may reduce the rich bronze colouring that makes Ajuga Braunherz so attractive, particularly in autumn and winter displays.
How to Water
When grown in baskets, Bugleweed should be watered regularly, especially during warm or windy weather when the compost can dry out more quickly. Keep the compost lightly moist and avoid letting it dry out completely between watering.
How to Plant
Plant Bugleweed into a hanging basket or container filled with a good quality multi-purpose compost, spacing the plants evenly around the basket for a fuller display. Firm the compost gently around the roots and water thoroughly after planting to help the plants settle in and establish quickly.
