Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Lavandula 'Munstead', commonly known as the English Lavender, is a beautiful evergreen ornamental tree with lush green/grey foliage. Part of the Lamiaceae family, the tree will produce narrow, toothed/lobed leaves in Springtime which will be accompanied by little highly-fragrant, tubular flowers with dense spikes during Summer. They are ideal to situate in small gardens, patios or flower beds and borders.
'Munstead' trees have a compact and bushy habit so are perfect to plant and grow in well-drained, moist soils - such as sand, chalk or loam based. Make sure to position the tree in a full sun but sheltered area to give them the best opportunity to thrive. It is recommended to water regularly until they are settled in, then slowly reduce as the season continues.
The ‘English Lavender’ tree requires minimal maintenance due to their hardy structure. To achieve the most colourful foliage, prune back the branch tips by around 10cm towards the later stage of the flourishing season (July) to encourage fresh, variegated growth the following season. Due to their very fragrant nature, look out for bees, butterflies and other pollinating wildlife towards the flourishing season.
Due to being evergreen, the Lavandula tree will keep their natural leaves all year round. They will emerge in early Spring with stunning lush green and grey foliage. As their flourishing season continues into the Summer months, small and lobed purple and white flowers will appear giving some character to the tree - making them very pleasing to look at.
Lavandula 'Munstead' ornamental trees display lush green/grey foliage in Springtime which is overrun by fragrant purple and white, lobe-shaped flowers during flourishing season. These bushy trees will produce sweetly-scented flowers that appear in clusters - attracting pollinating wildlife like bees and butterflies to your garden.
English Lavender trees are very low maintenance and can tolerate harsh weather condition if provided the correct shelter and protection. Be sure to plant in well-drained moist soil and water regularly until settled and established in their new location. You can repot the tree, however, it’s not necessary - It's just down to what decorative look you would like in your garden. Only prune to re-shape the tree and get rid of any uneven or long branches.
