Rootgrow 60g Sachet - Highly Recommended to Ensure your Plant(s) get the Best Possible Start
Product Summary
CONTAINS MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI - A naturally occuring organism, Mycorrhizal Fungi has been benefiting plants in our world for millions of years. Rootgrow is a granular feed that is commonly used to promote vigourous and robust growth, even in poor soils
GIVES NEW PLANTS THE BEST POSSIBLE START - Apply rootgrow by sprinking the appropriate amount into the planting hole, then place the plant in the hole ensuring the roots are touching the granules. Once applied your plants will begin to thrive better than before, improving plant establishment and subsequently bettering flowering and fruiting.
INCREASES UPTAKE OF WATER & NUTRIENTS - Plants treated with Rootgrow develop a secondary root system, with the express purpose of seeking out new sources of water and other key nutrients that are required to keep your plants happy and healthy.
REQUIRES A SINGLE APPLICATION - Rootgrow only needs to be applied once, a single treatment will generally last the entire lifespan of your plants.
RECOMMENDED ADD-ON - We highly recommend this product be purchased alongside any order for plants, to ensure that they get the best start in your garden.
Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
SEASONAL AVAILABILITY - Bare Root plants are supplied from late November until Spring the following year.
CHARACTERISTICS - Carpinus betulus is known for it's colour changing leaves which turn from a vibrant green in Spring/Summer to a burnt copper in Autumn/Winter. Catkins appear in Spring and develop small fruits to feed those hungy birds.
HEIGHT AND SPREAD - Supplied in their dormant state, Carpinus grows at 1-2ft per year and can reach up to 25m+ at full maturity, but can be pruned to a relatively low form of 1m if required.
PLANTING TIPS - Bare-Root hedging is typically planted in a double staggered row of 5 plants per metre. Evergreen plants are generally planted to less density than deciduous plants, such is the nature of their dense foliage.
Carpinus betulus is commonly known as 'Hornbeam' and is an extremely popular UK native hedge that displays stunningly bright green foliage with deep veins in spring along with newley formed catkins that turn in to fruit for birds and wildlife. In Autumn/Winter the leaves turn brown/copper but stay on the tree to give adequate cover and shelter for wind and wildlife.
Hornbeam prefers well-drained normal soil, exposed inland or coastal. Carpinus grows at around 1-2 feet per year but can be pruned to a manageable size.
