Characteristics: Upright herbaceous perennial shrub with long, narrow, mid-green leaves at the base of tall, stiff stems holding Copper-red flowers with a large, rounded centre from mid-Summer.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 0.5 Ð 1m and spread of 0.1 Ð 0.5m.
Period of Interest: Summer and Autumn interest. Daisy-like blooms with deep copper-red to orange, reflexed petals surrounding a large central brown disk from mid-Summer through to Autumn.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Keep in full sun. Some heavier stems may require support to remain upright. Does not tolerate dry soil. Water regularly for best flowering.
A tall and hardy herbaceous perennial with relatively large and notable flowers with rich colour. The Helenium ÔMoerheim BeautyÕ, or SneezeweedÕ, is an upright shrub with long, narrow clumping foliage growing at the base of tall, stiff stems which carry brown centred daisy-like flowers with reflexed petals of copper-red or orange. This perennial blooms from mid-Summer through to Autumn, providing late season interest and with its rich seasonal hues.
Plant in moist, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full sun in any position. Avoid dry soils and water regularly for best quality and quantity of flowers. May require staking to support taller stems. Attractive to pollinators.
