Simply fit the standard pot containing the plant into the cover, eliminating the need for more potting compost. This covering is also watertight so no need to worry about water spilling out.
Eucalyptus gunnii, also known as the 'cider gum tree' are lovely evergreen, ornamental trees. This species has a peeling cream and brown bark which will produce aromatic green, grey and blue foliage, accompanied by vibrant clusters of small white, red and yellow flowers. Eucalyptus trees are ideal to situate in small gardens, patios or next to ponds and pathways.
'gunnii' trees will thrive well being planted in the Spring/Summer season in well-drained, moist chalk, clay, sand or loam-based soils. Be sure to position in full sun, but sheltered location. The cider gum trees have a columnar / upright habit and are trained with a 'lollipop' stem, so are perfectly fine to plant solitary or next to other groups of plants.
The ‘cider gum’ tree requires minimal maintenance due to their hardy and compact structure. To achieve the most colourful foliage, prune back the branch tips by around 10cm towards the later stage of the flourishing season (July) to encourage fresh, variegated growth the following season.
Due to being evergreen, this Eucalyptus tree will keep their natural leaves all year round. This medium-sized tree will emerge in early Spring with stunning lush green and grey foliage. As their flourishing season continues into the Summer months, small and rounded white, yellow or red flowers will appear in small clusters that really give some character to the tree - making them very pleasing to look at.
Eucalyptus gunnii 'Cider Gum' ornamental trees present lovely peeling cream and brown bark, rounded, sickle-shaped leaves and small vibrant flowers. During Spring and Summer, the tree will show lush green/grey foliage before getting overrun with lovely red yellow or white flower clusters! These evergreen trees are fairly low maintenance and only require light pruning towards the end of the flourishing season.
The ‘Cider Gum’ Eucalyptus tree holds the RHS AGM status and will provide both character and vibrance all year round. They are best suited in small gardens, patios, borders or mixed containers. They also look fantastic next to ponds and pathways.
