Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.

Escallonia are popularly grown for a prolonged flowering period, and Red Elf is just the right variety for your summer garden. It is an excellent shrub to add height and structure in any garden. It provides lush colours at the back of a border or when used for screening walls or fences. This compact and evergreen variety produce green foliage and crimson flowers that attract bees and butterflies.
In summer, Escallonia Red Elf will bear clusters of tubular red flowers that grow in abundance. These decorative flowers are backed up small ovate leaves that are very glossy and dark green in colour. The shrub is dense and bushy, reaching a height of 1.5 metres, suitable for topiary. The shiny leaves and bright flowers create a vibrant display of colours on a sunny day and make Red Elf very useful for stylish hedging.
If you consider the best position for Red Elf in your garden, that will definitely be a sunny location, although it will perform simply great in semi-shade as well. New plants need to be watered more often until their roots have developed stronger.
Plant it in any soil that is moist and well-drained. It can thrive in any PH type soil be it alkaline, acidic or neutral. Red Elf is an easy to grow border shrub that requires low pruning. Simply trim after flowering as required to maintain its shape and size.
Escallonia Red Elf is most suitable for screening or low hedging. One can grow it as a single garden specimen. It can tolerate salt-laden coastal wind and thrives in mild coastal areas.
