Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
SEASONAL AVAILABILITY - Bare Root plants are supplied from late November until Spring the following year.
CHARACTERISTICS - Prunus Rotundifolia is known for it's bright green evergreen foliage and white flowers.
HEIGHT AND SPREAD - Supplied in their dormant state, Prunus grows at 1-2ft per year and can reach up to 5m+ at full maturity, but can be pruned to a relatively low form of 1m if required.
PLANTING TIPS - Bare-Root hedging is typically planted in a double staggered row of 5 plants per metre. Evergreen plants are generally planted to less density than deciduous plants, such is the nature of their dense foliage.
Prunus Rotundifolia is commonly known as 'Cherry Laurel' it is an extremely popular hedge within the UK that displays vibrant bright green foliage all year round and white flowers in summer. Prunus will keep its leaves as it is an evergreen shrub, giving you the benefits of a colourful dense screen hedge throughout the year.
Cherry Laurel prefers well-drained chalky soil, however will do fine in any type of soil as long as you avoid very wet conditions. Prunus grows at around 1-2 feet per year but can be pruned to a manageable size.
