Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Rounded, deciduous tree with a spreading habit and green, ribbed foliage turning to shades of red and yellow in autumn.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 15 - 20m and spread of 4 – 8m.
Flourishing Season: Pale green catkins in Spring, maturing into small nuts.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist, well-drained soils. Keep in full sun. Tolerates exposed areas. Can be susceptible to dry soils and drought.
Carpinus betulus ‘Rockhampton Red’ is a species of Hornbeam with some of the brightest and most vibrant autumn colours. This beautiful ornamental cultivar is seen as one of the best varieties of Hornbeam thanks to its bright green, ribbed, toothed foliage which gains deep hues of red and yellow in the Autumn months, while its leaves usually persist beyond most other deciduous trees to create some late Autumn interest. During the Spring pale green catkins may be spied among the leaves and are followed by small winged nuts.
Plant in moist, well-drained soils. Be wary of overly acidic, dry soils. Keep in full sun. Tolerates exposed areas and grows tall, making it perfect for windbreaks or screening.
