Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Upright, deciduous tree with a columnar habit, patched grey-white bark and light green foliage.
Growth & Spread: Ultimate height of 7 – 10m and spread of 2 - 3m.
Flourishing Season: Small brown catkins appearing in Spring.
Water & Maintenance: Plant in moist or somewhat dry soil. Keep in full sun. Occasional watering during extended drought periods.
Betula ‘Fastigiata’, also known as Upright Birch is a towering tree noted for its beautiful bark which grows almost pure white with some of it breaking and cracking with age, creating contrasting black cracks among the patches of white bark. The bark turns to a hue of silver-grey as the tree matures, its columnar growth allowing for a tall, branching crown that tends to twist and twine as it grows ever taller with some known to reach above 12 meters.
Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Prefers more acidic soils and tolerates drier areas. Keep in full sun. During long periods of drought occasional watering is advised, though little water is required. A hardy, low maintenance tree.
