Acer palmatum Katsura is a deciduous shrub with leaves that change colour throughout the seasons. In Spring, each leaf bears a pale green shade, before taking on a yellow-green hue in Summer, then rounding off the year with a striking display of red in Autumn. This slow-growing variety can be grown as a small tree inside any pot or container and, with an ultimate height and spread of 2.5 - 4m, it is guaranteed to be an impressive, long term feature in your garden.

Acers can be cared for with relative ease. Plant in an area of partial shade and aim to avoid long periods of exposure to full sunlight. They'll tolerate most well-drained soils, as long as you keep it moist. Water regularly and consistently.
