Hydrangea Macrophylla are beautiful deciduous shrubs with bright flowers in clusters, commonly used for their ornamental value in mixed shrubs. Their rich foliage and decorative flowers make them perfect for adding a contrast in the background. There are dozens of colourful varieties of Hydrangea Macrophylla. This mix of 3 Hydrangea shrubs by Gardeners Dream is what you certainly need to make your garden look more vivid and perky.

Hydrangea Macrophylla features large and bright flat corymb with numerous flowers in pink, blue and white colours. These colours depend on the PH of the soil where low PH will produce blue flowers and a higher PH will result in more pink flowers. Hydrangea produces toothed or lobed, dark green leaves that provide a distinct contrast for other shrubs, planted in front of a mixed shrub border.

These brilliant plants will thrive in full sun or partial shade, planted in a moist soil that is well-drained. Avoid dry soil or cover the soil with a layer of organic mulch to retain moisture. Fertilizers are not necessarily required if the soil is organically healthy. For poor soils, use a general-purpose fertilizer to enhance the blooming performance.

Take care while pruning Hydrangea in spring, remove dead wood only once the new growth has emerged. Deadheading the faded flowers regularly will encourage repeat blooms. Plant them in a sheltered spot protecting from cold winds that can damage the flower buds.

Hydrangea Macrophylla mix can be used in large containers or outdoors in mixed flowering shrub borders. Hydrangea plants are native to the forests in Japan, these are perfect for landscape gardens or cottage gardens.
