Characteristics: Hardy, evergreen, trailing shrub with variegated green and white foliage. Large, violet-blue flowers create a gorgeous display of colour when the plant blooms.
Growth and Spread: Ultimate height of 0.2m and spread of 0.6m.
Care and Maintenance: Prefers full sun or partial shade. It will tolerate most soil types. Keep soil moist, well-drained and water when the soil is dry to touch.
Period of Interest: Flowers will bloom from April - September.
Top Tip: This award-winning Periwinkle is a great form of groundcover, making it an excellent suppressor of weeds.
The Vinca minor Ralph Shugert is a gorgeous, trailing shrub. Its evergreen foliage is variegated with green in the centre and white on the margins. The Lesser Periwinkle bears large, violet-blue flowers in the months of April - September, bringing beautiful colour throughout Summer into Autumn. It is known to be a great form of groundcover, although it will also look tremendous in borders, pots or containers in your garden.
This variety of Vinca plant has previously received the Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society, highlighting its great reputation. It will perform very well in any sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, tolerates most soil types and only needs watered when the soil is dry to touch.
