A highly common and very popular flower. The daffodil has been used since ancient times, and is one of the earliest herbal cultivars, used in early medicines and also decoratively. It is known for its bright colours and distinctive shapes, sometimes fragrant, with six petals and a trumpet or cup centre corona. Some types, such as 'Pastel Gem' and 'Mount Hood' can have larger, longer, fluted trumpets and others, like 'Cheerfulness' can be double or multi-headed. A great choice for naturalising in the garden, or for large drifts and flower meadows.
