Characteristics: A mound-forming, spreading evergreen sub shrub with eye-catching grey-green leaves variegated in cream and white. Upright spikes of small blue-purple flowers appear in summer.
Growth and Spread: Ultimate height and spread of up to 1m.
Care and Maintenance: Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist but well-draining soil. Cut back spent flower spikes after flowering.

Boasting slightly fuzzy grey-green leaves variated in shades of creamy white and often tinged with purply pink, Salvia Officinalis Tricolour provides year-round interest in the garden. In summer, upright spikes produces terminal racemes of small blue-purple flowers that are a magnet for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
Tricolour sage is a popular culinary herb and the aromatic leaves are often used in Italian dishes, stews and stuffings. It complements meat and poultry dishes and makes a delightful garnish for soups.
Sage thrives in a sunny spot in light, well-draining soil. It is drought tolerant and doesn’t cope well with soggy soil conditions. Consider growing tricolour sage in pots or herb planters if the garden soil is too heavy. This is a low maintenance herb plant that largely takes care of itself.
