Characteristics: A flowering herbaceous perennial with a long blossoming season. Lance-shaped, hairy, dark green leaves give way to upright flower stems bearing large flowers of yellow, orange and brown, getting darker towards the centre of the flower.

Growth and Spread: Ultimate height and spread of up to 60cm.

Care and Maintenance: Rudbeckia plants thrive in partial shade and tolerate full shade. They prefer moist, well-draining soil and only need pruned to remove dead foliage in autumn or spring.

Period of Interest: Foliage interest from spring to autumn. Flowers from June to October.

Rudbeckia Summerina Sizzling Sunset combines the cheerful appearance of rudbeckia with the hardiness of echinacea.

Also known as black-eyed Susan, rudbeckia blooms bright flowers in fading shades of bright yellow, orange and brown all through summer and autumn. These blooms have a daisy-like appearance with similar colouring to sunflowers.

The bee-friendly flowers attract pollinators and make a great addition to a wildlife garden. Rudbeckia plants are ideal for flower beds and borders but are also well-suited to container gardening. The long flowering season makes them perfect for planting in pots to brighten up patios.

Like all herbaceous perennial plants, rudbeckias die back below ground level in late autumn, around the time of the first frost. They lie dormant during winter and sprout back to life in spring, when they quickly grow back to their full glory. Rudbeckia Summerina Sizzling Sunset is easy to care for doesn’t demand much maintenance to flourish.
