Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: A compact evergreen shrub with dark leaves and medium red blooms.
Growth & Spread: Slow rate grower. Heights from 0.6 to 0.9 m with spreads from 1.0 to 1.5 m.
Flourishing Season: Multitudes of papery, scarlet-red blooms appear in the middle to end of spring, in April and May.
Water & Maintenance: Water until established. A low maintenance plant, requires acidic soil and prefers to be in cooler, shaded to partially-shaded areas.
“Baden Baden” is a Rhododendron varietal that is compact and in the right acidic conditions, produces multitudes of vibrant, scarlet-red and small to medium-sized flowers. The flowers grow on trusses in groups of 3 to 5.
Foliage is composed of medium green leaves that are in an elongated oval shape and about 7 cm in length.
With a preference for partially shaded and sheltered areas, these plants require a bit more thought and care into their placement. Full-hardy in the UK, however, they do require shelter and protection from strong, cold winds.
Also, they make wonderful additions to flower beds and borders. The springtime blooms are rather impressive and can produce a large number of flowers, which when properly grown can completely cover the plant
Due to its overall smaller size, this variety does well in containers which allow you to adjust for the soil acidity, partial shade and sheltered requirements. Other suggested planting areas include informal garden areas, like those around a cottage. They are also perfect for a patio area and courtyard garden.
