Product description
Thyme 'Silver Queen' is a highly decorative culinary herb cultivated primarily for the striking variegation of its grey-green leaves, which are edged in creamy silver. This distinct foliage possesses a lovely, lemon-scented aroma that is released when the plant is brushed against or harvested. It is traditionally used as both an ornamental edging plant and a kitchen herb, perfect for adding a bright, citrusy note to fish dishes, roasted vegetables, and herbal teas.
This plant is typically grown as a hardy, bushy evergreen mound that provides year-round colour and structure in the garden. It is tough and generally frost-tolerant, though it can suffer in winter if the soil is too wet. For the best results and to maintain the vibrant silver variegation, plant it in a location with full sun. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and demands poor, free-draining soil, as it will rot quickly if kept in damp or heavy conditions.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Thyme 'Silver Queen' produces clusters of pale lilac-pink flowers in summer that are irresistible to bees. To keep the plant neat and prevent it from becoming woody and bare in the centre, give it a light trim with shears immediately after the flowering finishes.
How to Water
Like all thymes, Thyme 'Silver Queen' prefers to be on the dry side. Water young plants to get them settled, but once established, avoid supplemental watering unless the weather is extremely hot and dry. Wet roots are the enemy of this plant.
How to Plant
Plant Thyme 'Silver Queen' in a sunny, open spot with gritty, well-drained soil. It looks exceptional planted in gravel gardens, rockeries, or terracotta pots where the silver foliage contrasts beautifully with the darker earth or stone.
