Product description

Pink Thyme is a low-growing herb cultivated primarily for the profusion of pink blossoms that cover the plant in summer. The tiny, dark green leaves possess a mild savoury scent that is released when the plant is walked upon. It is traditionally used as a ground cover between stepping stones or in rock gardens, where it softens hard edges and suppresses weeds.

This plant is typically grown as a hardy evergreen mat that spreads slowly to cover the soil. It is tough and frost-tolerant. For the best results and the most flowers, plant it in a location with full sun. It is drought-tolerant and requires well-drained, sandy or gritty soil, as it will rot in damp conditions.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.

Instructions

Top Tip

Pink Thyme handles light foot traffic well. Plant it in the cracks of a patio or along a walkway to release a lovely scent whenever you walk by.

How to Water

Water Pink Thyme sparingly. It prefers dry conditions and mimics a Mediterranean environment, so overwatering can quickly cause root rot.

How to Plant

Plant Pink Thyme in full sun with sharp drainage. It is ideal for rockeries, troughs, or gravel gardens.
