Product description
Orange Thyme is a highly aromatic culinary herb cultivated primarily for the spicy, citrus-peel fragrance found in its slender, grey-green leaves. This unique flavour, which is sweeter and more floral than common thyme with a distinct tang of orange zest, is released powerfully when the foliage is warmed by the sun or crushed. It is traditionally used as a gourmet seasoning for duck, pork, and roasted vegetables, as well as being a surprising and delightful addition to fruit salads and custards.
This plant is typically grown as a low-growing, bushy evergreen sub-shrub that forms a neat mound of fragrant foliage. It is generally hardy, though like many thymes, it dislikes wet winters more than the cold itself. For the best results and the highest concentration of essential oils, plant it in a location with full sun. It is highly drought-tolerant once established and thrives in poor, rocky, or sandy soil, as it will rot if planted in heavy, waterlogged ground.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Orange Thyme produces pale pink or white flowers that are highly attractive to butterflies and bees. To keep the plant compact and ensure plenty of fresh, tender growth for cooking, trim it back lightly after the flowers have faded.
How to Water
Water young Orange Thyme plants moderately to help them establish. Once mature, this plant prefers dry conditions and is very intolerant of soggy soil. Allow the compost or ground to dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.
How to Plant
Plant Orange Thyme in a hot, sunny spot with sharp drainage. It is excellent for growing in crevices, rock gardens, or shallow terracotta pans where the soil stays warm and dry, mimicking its natural Mediterranean habitat.
