A bushy perennial shrub with aromatic, bright green foliage and tall stems with contrasting dark hues. The Salvia Amistad, also known more commonly as Sage, is a tall cultivar with mildly fuzzy or hair, pointed leaves alongside tall stems of deep purple nearing black, carrying similarly coloured buds which bloom constantly into beautiful royal purple flowers with a tubular shape from early Summer and through to the beginnings of Autumn.
Plant in moderately fertile, well-drained, light soils and keep in full sun in a sheltered position. Drought tolerant once established. Considered an evergreen in milder regions but frost and Winter protection are still advised.

Water Salvia deeply when the soil feels dry to the touch. Ensure the soil is well-drained to prevent waterlogging. Once established, Salvia is drought-tolerant but benefits from occasional watering during hot, dry periods.
How to Plant
Plant Salvia in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice the size of the root ball and position the plant. Fill in the hole with soil and water well. Space plants 30-45cm apart, depending on the variety.
