Product description
Peppermint is a vigorous aromatic herb cultivated primarily for the intense, cooling menthol sensation found in its dark green, often purple-tinged leaves. This potent flavour, which acts as a refreshing palate cleanser and digestive aid, is released immediately when the leaves are crushed or steeped in hot water. It is traditionally used as the primary ingredient for soothing herbal teas, as well as a classic flavouring for chocolates, confectionary, and ice creams, where its sharp "bite" contrasts perfectly with sugar.
This plant is typically grown as a hardy perennial that spreads aggressively via underground runners, making it a ground cover that can quickly dominate a garden space. It is extremely robust and frost-tolerant, dying back in winter only to return with renewed vigour in the spring. For the best results and lush foliage, plant it in a location with partial shade, though it will also manage in full sun if the soil is damp. It is not drought-tolerant and thrives in fertile, heavy soil that is kept consistently moist through regular watering.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Instructions
Top Tip
Peppermint has one of the highest menthol contents of all mints, giving it that characteristic cooling sensation. However, its roots are highly invasive. Always grow it in a container or sink a deep bucket into the ground to contain the roots and prevent them from swamping your other plants.
How to Water
Peppermint is a water-loving plant that naturally thrives near streams. Keep the soil consistently moist; if the soil dries out, the leaves will wither and the plant becomes susceptible to rust and mildew.
How to Plant
Plant Peppermint in rich, moisture-retentive soil. Because it is a hybrid of water mint and spearmint, it is sterile and won't produce seeds, so it must be propagated by root division or cuttings. Repot annually to keep the growth fresh and vigorous.
