Product description
Mint 'English Lamb' is a superb culinary variety cultivated primarily for its sweet, mild, and classic spearmint flavour found in its lush green leaves. This superior taste, which lacks the harshness of stronger peppermints, is released effortlessly when the leaves are chopped or muddled. It is traditionally used as the definitive mint for Sunday roasts, forming the perfect base for homemade mint sauce, but it is equally excellent in fresh summer salads, jellies, and boiled new potatoes.
This plant is typically grown as a vigorous hardy perennial that spreads via underground runners to form extensive patches. It is extremely robust and frost-tolerant, dying back in winter to re-emerge strongly in spring. For the best results and the most succulent foliage, plant it in a location with partial shade or sun, provided the ground stays damp. It is not drought-tolerant and thrives in fertile, rich soil that is kept consistently moist through regular watering.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
Mint 'English Lamb' is vigorous and invasive. To stop it from swamping your entire vegetable patch, always plant it in a container. If you want it in a border, sink a bucket (with drainage holes added) into the ground and plant the mint inside it to contain the roots.
How to Water
Mint 'English Lamb' loves moisture and dislikes drying out. Water it frequently to keep the leaves lush and green. If the plant dries out too much, it becomes prone to powdery mildew and rust, so keep the soil consistently damp.
How to Plant
Plant Mint 'English Lamb' in a pot using rich, moisture-retentive compost. Divide the plant every couple of years in the spring to keep it vigorous and prevent the centre of the clump from becoming woody and unproductive.
