Product description

Elijah Blue' forms small cushions of very fine, inrolled, intensely ice-blue leaves, becoming greener in winter. From late spring to summer it bears narrow, bristly blue-green flower plumes that turn golden-brown.

This compact evergreen grass plant is best placed in an area of full sunlight, as well as planting it in moist, well-drained soil for best colour, growth and results.

Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. Depending on season, some plants may be pruned back to encourage growth and deciduous plants may arrive without leaves. Collections or 'mixed' listings for plants will be selected dependant on availability and carefully hand-picked to ensure their quality.

Instructions

Top Tip

Festuca thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. Avoid excess watering to prevent root rot.

How to Water

Water Festuca moderately, ensuring the soil is dry to the touch before watering again. These drought-tolerant plants prefer dry conditions once established, so avoid overwatering, especially during cooler months.

How to Plant

Plant Festuca in well-draining soil, in a sunny spot. Dig a hole slightly larger than the root ball, place the plant, and backfill with soil. Gently firm the soil around the base. Space plants 30-45cm apart to allow for their clumping growth habit.
