Product description
Chamomile Roman is a low-growing perennial herb cultivated primarily for the delightful, fruity scent of fresh apples released by its feathery foliage when crushed or walked upon. This soothing aroma comes from its essential oils and is traditionally used to create calming herbal teas and infusions. Known to aid sleep and relaxation, although the daisy-like flowers can also be dried for use in potpourri and aromatherapy.
This plant is typically grown as a hardy, evergreen ground cover or a fragrant "lawn" substitute, as its creeping stems form a dense, weed-suppressing mat that tolerates light foot traffic. For the best results and most prolific flowering, plant it in a location with full sun or partial shade. It requires light, free-draining sandy soil, as it dislikes heavy clay and sitting in wet ground, becoming reasonably drought-tolerant once established.
Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may therefore differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only - The plant will be supplied in a growers pot.
Garden Plant Size Guide

Plants in larger pots can be multiple years older than their smaller counterparts with more mature root systems and foliage. This makes them able to thrive as a full size plant in your garden quicker than smaller alternatives.
The most common size of pot that garden plants come in are 9cm/1L/3L/5L this is in reference to the diameter at the top of the pot.
9cm potted plants still remain the most popular cost effective option though, they just may take a little patience to allow them to grow into full maturity once planted in your garden.

Top Tip
If growing Chamomile Roman as a fragrant lawn, remove the flower heads as they appear to keep the energy focused on the spreading foliage. However, if growing it for tea, leave the flowers to bloom and harvest them when fully open on a dry, sunny morning.
How to Water
Water new plants regularly until they begin to spread and form a mat. Once established, Chamomile Roman is relatively drought-tolerant, though it will need occasional deep watering during prolonged hot spells to stop the foliage from turning brown.
How to Plant
Plant Chamomile Roman in light, well-drained soil in a sunny spot, spacing plants about 15-20cm apart if you want them to knit together quickly. Ensure the soil is free of perennial weeds before planting, as weeding through the established mat later can be difficult.
