A reasonably hardy herbaceous perennial with interesting foliage and rich flower colour. The Polemonium ‘Bressingham Purple’, known more commonly as ‘Jacob’s Ladder’, is an upright plant with deep green foliage of finely divided, fern-like leaves and tall, leafy stems, all of which gain hues of purple during the Spring and Autumn. Small clusters of cup-shaped, lavender-blue flowers appear atop the stems from late Spring through to mid-Summer. A great container or border variety.
Plant in any moist, fertile, well-drained soils and keep in full or partial sun. Prefers partial sun in periods and regions with hot afternoon sun. Soil moisture should be maintained during this time as they dislike dry soil. Herbaceous perennial will die back in Winter and regrow the following Spring.
