  • Characteristics: Phormium Alison Blackman, commonly known as New Zealand Flax, is an evergreen perennial shrub that has great colour and character due to its clump-forming habit and, in the colour and character department, it has variegated, upright olive-green leaves with a yellow margin around that. Then, in July and August, gorgeous yellow flowering will begin to show.
  • Plant Advice: Year-round interest with colourful foliage being at the forefront throughout. Perfect for placement in borders, bedding, patios and containers. It should be planted in moist, well-drained soil, with watering taking place once or twice a week. Full sun or partial shade is best for the plant, but please note that the cold winds and hard frosts of the Winter months may cause foliage damage.

In July and August, this Phormium will produce delightful yellow flowers. Throughout the year, the plant will maintain colourful foliage, ensuring vibrancy in the garden for the most-part. Moist, well-drained soil and full sun or partial shade is best for growth, as well as watering it once or twice a week.
