Characteristics: A flowering perennial with large, mid-pink, bowl-shaped blooms and slightly hairy bright green leaves.

Growth and Spread: Ultimate height of up to 90cm and spread of up to 60cm.

Care and Maintenance: Papaver Pink Perfection is an easy plant to look after. A sheltered position in full sun is ideal but it tolerates partial shade. Keep the soil moist but well drained and mulch in autumn to help protect the roots from harsh winter temperatures.

Period of Interest: Foliage interest from spring to autumn. Flowers from May to July.

Papaver Pink Perfection is an oriental poppy cultivar with large pink flowers providing the main attraction. The petals are loosely arranged, resembling tissue paper with frilled edges, and are particularly well-suited for informal and cottage-style gardens. The colour changes towards the centre of the flower, reaching an almost black shade of reddish-purple in the stamen. Bright green leaves are deeply lobes and covered in slight silver hairs.

Oriental poppies are undemanding garden plants that don’t require much maintenance to thrive. They prefer a sheltered spot in full sun but tolerate partial shade. Soil should be moist but well drained and deadheading is recommended to encourage a second flush of flowers. These fully hardy poppies are deer and rabbit resistant and won’t be eaten by slugs or snails.

Papaver pink perfection’s nectar-rich flowers are irresistible to pollinators, attracting bees, butterflies and other wildlife to the garden. Like all herbaceous perennials, this plant dies back in autumn to spend its dormant period underground but comes back every spring, quickly growing back to its full height.
