Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Forms a dense, mat-like system of growth with clean, deep-green leaves.
Growth & Spread: Slow growing. With a height of 0.1 to 0.2 m and a spread of about 0.6 to 1.0 m.
Flourishing Season: White flowers in bunches in the late spring and early summer months of May and June.
Water & Maintenance: Water until established, after which it is relatively low maintenance, except for pruning for excessive growth.
With origins in Japan and China, this evergreen perennial is a superb ground cover in shady to partially shaded areas. The dense foliage spreads out as it grows. White flowers tipped with a dark maroon form in bunches on the end of erect spikes that rise up throughout the plant
Shiny, thick leaves that are approximately 7 to 10 cm in length. The foliage is resistant to larger pests like deer and rabbits. And it is generally disease-free, but can be attacked by slugs and snails. This species can be invasive, if left without monitoring. It will spread and propagate through underground root systems.
Relatively hardy and can handle temperatures down to -15⁰ C. Known as a compact shrub and very useful for groundcover on banks and slopes. Perfectly suited for groundcover underneath taller shrubs and trees. However, it does not tolerate any foot traffic.
Generally used as excellent ground cover underneath trees and taller plants. And is able to handle drier conditions, although it prefers a general level of moisture in well-draining soils. It is tolerant of most soil types.
