Product Description
Rootgrow Mycorrhizal Fungi is an essential product that helps establish your plants, made with mycorrhizal fungi, a micro-organism with which trees have had a symbiotic relationship for millions of years. Once your plants are in the ground, it will develop a highly-active secondary root system, with the explicit purpose of exponentially increasing the uptake of water and nutrients, everything needed in order to allow your plants to flourish.
Characteristics: Fragrant and upright growth help it to stand out in a winter garden
Growth & Spread: A little over 2 m height and 1 m spread
Flourishing Season: Late fall to Winter is best as it develops flowers and grape-like clusters of berries
Water & Maintenance: It is drought tolerant and can grow in full to partial shade. It can tolerate being exposed or sheltered.
This Mahonia hybrid is an excellent addition to accent your winter garden. It grows well vertically and has a frond-like leaf system which distinguish it among other winter plants. The Mahonia are a type of evergreen shrub.
In addition, in the late fall to winter, racemes of yellow flowers appear. These elongated stalks of flowers along a central spine develop into small grape-like clusters of dark-coloured berries. Furthermore, the pinnate leaves are an exotic, spine-toothed design. It is a hardy plant that is generally pest and disease free.
The Mahonia “Winter Sun” is a stunner in the winter time. When the drab and dreary colours have set in, the Mahonia responds with bright, yellow flowers and exotic purple berries. The spring through autumn colours are much more subdued, yet remain a deep, lush green.
This plant is ideal for cottages and more rustic garden settings. You will most appreciate it as being part of a collective of more woodland plants or along a border. Compared to some related plants, the “Winter Sun” is more compact and aromatic. It is a worthy addition to your cottage or countryside-gardening style.
