Characteristics: A hardy perennial with slender leaves in shades of grey-green and white, with small summer flowers. An excellent grass-like plant for adding colour and texture to beds and borders.
Growth and Spread: Ultimate height of 0.7m and spread of 1m.
Care and Maintenance: Plant in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Prune in early spring.
Period of Interest: Evergreen foliage remains all year, whilst flowers bloom from early spring until summer.
Lomandra White Sands is a unique perennial which looks similar to an ornamental grass. Despite its grass-like appearance, this plant is actually a perennial, with small, yellow flowers blooming from late spring until summer. The foliage, however, is what makes this plant special. Slender, arching leaves are variegated with shades of grey-green and white, providing year-round colour and texture.
Plant Lomandra White Sands in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It is very easy to maintain as it can withstand very cold temperatures as well as very hot, dry periods, although it will benefit from some light pruning in early spring to remove any dead leaves. An excellent choice for borders and ground cover to add year-round colour and texture.
